Missing Ole Miss student’s car found at towing company

OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) – Oxford Police are continuing to search for missing Ole Miss student Jimmie “Jay” Lee.

Lee was last seen early Friday morning and his car was collected Monday from an Oxford towing company.

Lakiowa Milan, Lee’s neighbor, said Lee’s disappearance put others on high alert.

“They should be alert now if it’s a kidnapping because it doesn’t look like him,” Lakiowa’s neighbor Milan Lee said.

She said her demise was too close to be comfortable.

“Something like that is unusual on campus. I’ve never heard anything like this happen here,” Milan said.

On Monday, Oxford police recovered the 20-year-old’s 2014 Ford Fusion with the license plate “JayLee1”.

It was towed from the Molly Barr Trails apartment complex where police believe Lee was visiting someone on Friday.

Milan said Lee was well known on campus.

She said search efforts have intensified and the situation has been shared thousands of times on social media.

Milan hope this will help law enforcement find their friend.

“He is really energetic. Really nice. Friendly. He’ll talk to anyone, he’s kind of the life of the party, he’s really nice, so it’s just unfortunate that something like this happened to him,” Milan said.

Lee was last seen wearing a silver dress, gold cap and gray slippers.

If you have information on the whereabouts of this missing person, you are encouraged to call the University of Mississippi Police Department at (662) 915-7234.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to Lee’s location.
