Boardman towing company owner expects to stay busy as snow continues to fall

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – One business that thrives in this type of weather is towing companies – someone always has to be pulled out of somewhere.

Chris Flynn, the owner of Boardman Towing and Recovery, has been busy cleaning up wrecks in Mahoning County all day. As the snow continues to fall, he also expects a busy evening.

“If this evening looks like this afternoon, I’m sure our crews will be busy all night taking care of everything,” he said.

Flynn says it’s illegal not to slow down in an accident scene where his trucks are present, even in bad weather.

“Beware of emergency vehicles and tow trucks that tend to get to the scene of an accident. The “Slow down, move” law applies every day of the year, including tow trucks, ”Flynn said.

It also requires patience for other customers whose cars may have slipped off the road, as eliminating active accident scenes is a priority.

“Obviously, police and crash calls – things that block the roads – have a high priority. So people stuck in a bad position in a bad place like that, those kind of calls go first, ”Flynn said.

Flynn recommends caution when driving in winter conditions.

“The best would be to take your time. I know it’s repetitive and anyone will tell you, but it’s the truth. Take your time, slow down, take turns slowing down, slow down earlier, ”said Flynn.

And he wants everyone to go home safe and sound.

“Leave us room to work. We would like to be safe and we want you to be safe as you walk past our stage. Everyone wants to come home safe, ”said Flynn.
